Paid Media Specialist

Freelance | Remote | Flexible

Available ASAP until March 2026

Welsh National Theatre is seeking a Paid Media Specialist to manage digital advertising for multiple forthcoming productions. This is a hands-on role for an experienced digital advertiser with proven expertise in Meta Ads and Google Ads.

You will be responsible for physically building and optimising campaigns in-platform, managing multiple campaigns and ad sets simultaneously, building audiences, pacing spend, setting up and monitoring tracking, and updating copy and creative (provided by our team). You will work closely with our marketing lead to ensure campaigns deliver strong results across KPIs.

Time Commitment

  • Flexible, estimated 3-4 days for campaign set up 

  • 1 day per week (flexible schedule, may vary depending on campaign activity)

  • Some weeks may require more intensive monitoring during key campaign moments

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, launch, and optimise paid media campaigns in Meta and Google, managing multiple campaigns/ad sets concurrently.

  • Create and refine audience targeting, including remarketing strategies.

  • Monitor performance daily, adjusting budgets, pacing, and bids to meet KPIs.

  • Implement tracking, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting within platforms.

  • Refresh ad copy and creative assets (provided) to improve performance and reduce ad fatigue.

  • Report on campaign results and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record managing Meta and Google Ads campaigns for ticketed events or similar high-conversion campaigns.

  • Hands on TikTok ad management experience an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation, remarketing, and conversion tracking.

  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical skills with experience using Meta & Google Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other tracking tools.

  • Clear, proactive communicator who can work independently.

Contract Details

This role is open to all, but we particularly encourage applications from people based in Wales with the relevant skills and experience.

  • Freelance, project-based contract

  • Flexible working, but must be available for key campaign dates and performance monitoring

  • Available ASAP until March 2026
